About Me

I am the co-pastor of ONE Church in Moore, OK.  I along with my highly gifted teammate, Phil Scowden, launched the new work on January 17, 2010 with our first gathering.  We are bi-vocational and have a passion to lead people into an interactive relationship with God.  Our mission is to introduce people to the transforming work of Christ, equip them and send them into the world to repeat the process.  Our first gathering drew 260 people and was followed by 197 a week later.  God has provided for ONE Church in so many ways as we have pursued His calling.  We are truly blessed to be a part of what He is doing.

I have been in ministry since 1999 and Phil and I had the privilege of helping a church grow from a few hundred in weekly attendance to nearly 1,400.  Our quest however, for ONE Church is not size, but substance.  It is a desire to plant churches with people that God has equipped through our ministry so that we can expand the gospel to regions we could have not reached otherwise.

I have been married to Lancia since 1993 and she leads the worship at ONE Church.  She is an RN at a local hospital and has a giant heart.  Without her, I would not be even a 1/4 of the man I am today.  She and I have three wonderful children who attend the Moore Public School system.

I completed a B.S. in Theology (that still sounds weird) from Hillsdale Free Will Baptist College.  My goal is to pursue a master's degree at some point, but God has yet to provide the path to do so.  I entered full-time ministry after working several years for the Department of Education for the State of Oklahoma.  I feel strongly called to plant a church in Moore and was willing to leave a very well paying job to do so.  I mention this because I believe that God does not always show you the path before you set out on your journey.  There must be a resolve and determination that you will follow Him wherever he leads, even if it you are completely unsure of  how He will provide.

ONE Church does not follow the traditional format of church polity or ministry.  We strive to be relevant in our local culture and are committed to adapt our methods to suite what will reach our culture.  At the same time, we are committed to sound doctrine and fulfilling the Great Commandment and Great Commission.

My hearts calling is to guide people into the process of spiritual formation.  If I have a life verse, or goal it is found in Galatians 4:19.
"Oh, my dear children! I feel as if I’m going through labor pains for you again, and they will continue until Christ is fully developed in your lives." (NLT)

I love to read, especially books regarding my passion of transformation.  I also enjoy studying leadership and have had the great opportunity to be mentored by Cindy Reynolds, the CEO of the Reynolds Leadership Group based out of Oklahoma City.  Her company works with businesses in leadership, team and personal development.  Just recently, RLG has ventured into assisting churches with their ministry.  I have been fortunate enough to assist on a limited level in this arena.

If you live in the South OKC, Moore or Norman area, I encourage you to participate in worship at ONE Church.  We are currently meeting at Hillsdale Free Will Baptist College on the west I-35 service round, south of SE 19th.  We begin at 11:00 AM and have a full range of children's ministries.  We are also currently meeting on Wednesday night at 7 PM at the old Moore First Free Will Baptist Church located at 507 E. Main.  We also provide children's classes on Wednesday evening.

Well, there are the highlights about me.  If you have read this far, you must be really bored. LOL.

Sooner born, Sooner bred.  But, more importantly, to live as Christ.
